Homemade Taco Seasoning

Make this one time and you'll never buy those store-bought packets again (those things are packed with sodium anyway!). This seasoning is great for tacos, chili, fajitas, or whatever you'd like to make a little spicier. I just filled a jar and keep it in my pantry with the other spices, and it also makes a great gift. The recipe below gives you the spice ratio, and you can make as much or as little as you'd like.

Ingredients
Three parts paprika
Three parts onion powder
Two parts garlic powder
One part cumin
One part cayenne pepper
One part black pepper
One part salt -- omit the salt if you used onion salt or garlic salt above in place of the powder
Small sprinkle of crushed red pepper

Directions
Mix all ingredients together in one jar.
Make sure that the jar seals well, so the spices don't go stale.
Store in a cool, dry place (usually in your pantry with other spices).
Use as much or as little as you want in your daily recipes, such as chili.
